Sisense has many different out of the box data source connectors. We are primarily using just one - Snowflake as our data warehouse, where we have already done a variety of different data aggregation upstream. Sisense ElastiCubes are easier to use and perform better when much of the slicing and dicing of data is done in advance prior to being utilized in Sisense. Once ElastiCubes are built, they perform well for end users as queries only need to be made against these (though you can also query directly against the live source).

Sisense has lots of third-party data connectors to anything you can think of. We use it to connect to SharePoint, Splunk, Excel, MSSQL, and more. We are looking into other data sources all the time.

Sisense has many great connectors out of the box, but when it comes to connecting to REST API's as data sources, there is no way to use an actual scripting language to generate hashes or signatures with timestamps where that is needed for secure REST API access. This was a big headache for us requiring a pretty convoluted work around.

Sisense's API allows for it to connect to a large range of sources but also improves those data sources by delivering an interactive dashboard. I wasn't fully versed in the details, but after speaking with our development team I got the impression that it was easier to connect to our different data models in Sisense than any other tool we were demoing.

Sisense offers a huge number of native data connectors. Those connectors include connectivity with third party connector provider and generic data provider like ODBC and REST. Plus the API easily allow to develop additional connector if necessary.

Data source connectivity is one of Sisense best capabilities. It connects to all of your available sources and creates a virtual Data warehouse, which not only prevents from disconnecting, but it prevents the data errors I mentioned before on this review. Finally, this software stands out for its ability to draw large amounts of data from multiple data sources at high speeds.

Out of the box, Sisense has more than a dozen connectors available for external data. In addition, there are even more connector plug-ins available for download on their website from SQL servers to Facebook. These together help build a comprehensive data platform to connect data at all levels of the business.

1) It is really easy to merge data from different sources.
2) It has good odbc drivers (This is really important to us as other providers do not have their own native odbc driver).
3) It queries really quickly than compared to other providers.
4) The option to use real time data (Via live connector)

Sisense has been able to connect to every data source that I needed it to connect to. This includes SQL Server, CSVs, Excel, Oracle, and ODBC. Different data sources can easily be accessed within one elasticube.

On the downside, one dashboard can only talk to one Elasticube. This requires careful planning upfront on your building of the cubes.

Fully supports almost any common data-source, and easily allows you to model and mash-up data from multiple sources.

Supports Real-time visulaizations of data, but one point off because real-time visualization does not (yet) allow mash-up and or complex modeling.

They can connect to almost everything using an API, but would have liked to see more native connections.
