Pardot and Act-On have similar capabilities in terms of the functions and features; however, Act-On's customer service is far superior. With Pardot, I felt as if implementation was a on set timeline and once you were done that was it, you had a question and you needed to either figure it out or wait for someone to get back to you to solve it. With Act-On, however, your needs are their needs. Your support is custom from implementation all the way to strategy and campaign management.
Always consider how many active contacts you have when choosing a marketing automation platform. This will help you to decode the pricing structure. Additionally, if you are going to be using a great deal of gated content, you want to be sure you have cloud based storage and not a system where you will need to pay additional fees for storage of your assets. This can add up quickly. Finally, be sure you choose a platform that allows you to learn in a custom way. Act-On is very good at understanding the level of competence a user has, and catering their implementation and training to that.
