Overall Satisfaction with Adobe PhotoShop

I've used Photoshop for over 24 years and still use it today, although not for designing websites anymore, for that we use Adobe XD. We use Photoshop now as it is meant to be used; for adjusting photos (lighting, color, size) ready to export for a website or in a printed item.
  • Setting levels (highlights) to images look great when printed
  • Industry standard for photo manipulation
  • Batch image processing
  • Could provide a more simple version for new users
  • Could be rebuilt to increase speed
  • Batch image processing
  • Smart sharpening (to look good in print)
  • Colour adjustments
  • Essential for our work
GIMP is an open-source copy of Photoshop but without as many features. As I've learned to use Photoshop so many years ago there isn't a reason for our organization to choose another product. There is also Affinity photo which looks similar but without the subscription model. Adobe needs to be careful they don't lose market share to Affinity.

Useful for manipulating images, whether that's setting the highlights so images are not blown out in the whites, or for adjusting the colors. Sometimes an image will be too warm (red) or too cold (blue). You can use Photoshop to reduce these colors individually and improve the tonal range of an image. It's not suited to designing websites anymore, use Adobe XD.
