Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx
I use Alteryx to teach my students how to utilize advanced data analytics software for conducting complex analyses on large datasets. I also recommended its use to our controller's office with the aim of streamlining their processes.
- Its ability to process large datasets with ease.
- It's very intuitive to use, and it has many similar functionalities to those in Excel.
- It's suitable for repetitive and routine use, such as monthly reporting.
- I don't have any suggested improvements for Alteryx. Users should understand that it's intended to be used with large datasets and for recurring processes. As it takes time to build out the workflow, for one-off analysis, Excel will probably suffice.
- It can take a very long time to develop a workflow in Alteryx. Once the workflow has been developed, the processing time is phenomenal. It took me a few hours to develop a workflow for one application. Once I had developed the workflow to my specific needs, it took less than a minute to process what I needed. If I were to use Excel, it would probably take me 20-25 minutes.
- The workflow provides a great audit trail, especially if you have multiple people working on it. Changing components of the workflow, such as querying criteria, is extremely easy.
