Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

Alteryx used for data wrangling, modeling, and data visualization. I find that Alteryx has an easy-to-use user interface and makes the ETL process smoother. I think the data visualizations produced by Alteryx are generally good, although not the best in the industry. Overall, I use Alteryx when I want to be able to easily reproduce a data process and want to be able to do analytics quickly.
  • Data wrangling
  • Data visualization
  • Data modeling
  • Alteryx is great for processes that is has already "thought through". It's more difficult to get Alteryx to deal with some customization.
  • The data visualizations with Alteryx are generally good, although I don't think the color schemes are the best.
  • I think the data science capabilities are awesome with Alteryx, although not as well used as products built with Python or R.
  • Alteryx has had a positive ROI in that it takes less human capital to find insights from datasets.
  • Alteryx has been a good ROI investment because it often gives ideas worth pursuing that may not have been noticed otherwise.
  • Alteryx is sometimes not worth the effort either because other analysts don't use it or because leadership isn't willing to put in the effort to understand some of the advanced charts.
I have never had a problem with the reliability and adaptability of Alteryx. I think the tool is very efficient with little effort for non-programmers to see the value. I think the reports produced by Alteryx are easy to understand and make the reporting process much better than if it was done with Excel or a similar less-than-capable software tool.
I have used Altery'x data science, machine learning, and NLP features and find them helpful in advanced analysis settings. With that said, most settings for which I use Alteryx don't require advanced analytics or modeling. And with that said, I sometimes run advanced analytics just to see if I can get quick ideas from the data, and Alteryx is great in such a scenario.
Overall, I think Alteryx aims for a higher level of user than such data tools as Tableau Desktop or Domo. These two in particular aim to be good at data visualization with analytics as a secondary consideration. It seems to me like Alteryx aims for a more holistic approach that places equal weight on the importance of analytics and data visualization.

Alteryx is well-suited for companies that wish to automate their data pipelines. Alteryx makes it easy to set up the data science and to find ideas from the data that may be worth pursuing. I think Alteryx is also good at making the work product sharable with other professionals. Alteryx has relatively good charts.
