Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

Alteryx is used in our Analytics team and Data Engineering team. It is being used mainly for data preparation before analytics. Also, it is used for repetitive analytics because it is really easy to run a complex query from Alteryx.
  • Data preparation.
  • Visualizing complex queries.
  • Processing multiple "joins" in an easy manner.
  • Alteryx could use data connectors to other software systems.
  • Alteryx may need to add better data visualization capacity.
Alteryx has an excellent capacity to utilize multiple data sources. Also, its processing speed is pretty fast. It does not have data connectors for some other software systems, so I do not give 10.
Alteryx is not super strong on access control capabilities. However, the Alteryx workflow is very easy to share across a team and each team member can modify workflows for his or her own needs.
Alteryx could be very useful if you need to combine data from multiple data sources. Also, it would help data preparation and cleaning before analyzing data. If the data quality is already excellent, then it would probably be less useful.

Using Alteryx

As of now, mostly data and analytics functions are using Alteryx. Recently, there are multiple Alteryx training sessions started in the firm and it helped to expand usage of Alteryx across marketing and business functions. I would expect there will be 500+ Alteryx users across the firm in the next couple of years.
3 - We have a small team dedicated to support Alteryx across the firm. This team is hosting Alteryx monthly user meeting and share useful Alteryx tips and case studies. Also they maintain Alteryx internal user groups including question and answer boards. They are very fluent in terms of Alteryx technical skills.
