Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Working for a consulting firm I both Implement Anaplan and also Use Anaplan to plan our business internally. It is incredibly flexible and easy to use which makes it great for Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and everything in between! The beauty of it is the ability to use the same data sets so that the business is all aligned in terms of the decisions it is making important decisions off of.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Excel, IBM Cognos Analytics, Workday Adaptive Planning and Salesforce Desk

The only platform with the flexibility that matches Anaplan is Excel. However, excel is not scalable. There are also many great point solutions out there that can do one thing well, but I have not seen anything else that can do as much as Anaplan can, and do it well.

The flexibility and ability to be owned by the business are unmatched. My background is in supply chain and the reason i made the jump to start implementing Anaplan was so that I could be around the software that I wish I had as a practitioner. In Supply chain we are so used to having to adapt to platforms created for us, and for us to be able to define what we wanted with Anaplan is unmatched!
