We use Asana as a project management tool, as we have offices all over the country. It is a great organizational tool to help make sure that tasks are being completed between departments on project. It's also a time saver as it reduces inbox clutter from a bunch of reply-all e-mail chains.
- Easy to organize tasks and assign to other people.
- I like that you can duplicate tasks and projects, which is a huge time-saver for repetitive projects.
- I like the different options available for notifications. Personally I don't like inbox clutter, so I turned off all notifications, and just rely on the browser indicator to let me know if there is something that needs to be addressed on Asana.
- I love the ability to attach files within tasks, and the storage capabilities of the entire platform.
- Installing Asana on different browsers has caused multiple computers in the office to experience problems. I think this is getting better, but it was a big problem.
- Setting up privacy settings is a little confusing.
- A lot of the features aren't used by people who are not as tech-savvy.
- Increased communication between departments on projects.
- Decreased clutter in employee's inboxes!
- More efficient project management process.
Our company has never used a project management tool before. I had used Asana at a previous company and was highly impressed with the capabilities of it (even at the early stages of development), so when the idea came around to start utilizing a web based project management tool, I recommended Asana.
