Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response

Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response helps me manage the spam or phishing mails that still get through despite the installed countermeasures. Because of the good countermeasures that are implemented, I don't have a lot of requests or issues in the application. The application itself offers a simple way of deleting harmful mails in user mailboxes and it centralises the reporting of spam of all users with the use of an Outlook plugin.
  • Easy user interface
  • Simple application with 2 tasks only
  • Integrated in the Barracuda Total Email Security Suite
  • If you own the total security suite, the use of the app becomes less important
  • It would be nice to post a mail yourself in order to delete this mail from other mailboxes. If possible, it is not clear how to do this.
  • It provides a uniform way of reporting bad mail.
  • Without scripting knowledge, you can eliminate bad mail from users mailboxes.

I would recommend it as a first test to show people how Barracuda can help. But once you have the full suite, the application becomes rather obsolete or at least less important since practically no bad mails enters your environment. The plugin does help since the end user has a uniform way of reporting spam or bad mail.

Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response Support

I didn't really need support yet. There are some cases where i see, for myself, an extra usage but haven't requested help in that matter to support yet. But barracuda overal support is always good, so i presume it will be similar here.

Using Barracuda Forensics and Incident Response

As a standalone product it is great. But combined with essentials and sentinel, it kinda looses its purpose. I see about 6 reported mails in a month, just because sentinel gets them before the users see the mails. I could see an extra use in forensics, in allowing to remove whatever mail in the mailboxes (eg. confidential mails that got arround by accident) but haven't figured out if this is possible and how to do this. It would save time, since until now we manage those types of mail via scripting.
