Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

Our organization uses RE NXT primarily as a tool for fundraisers (development team) to manage their portfolio of donors, prospects, and others involved in our organization. It solves the problem of fundraisers not having a central place to manage their portfolio or having to rely on our database manager for information related to their portfolio and fundraising efforts.

Pros

  • Provide easy ways to track actions (past, present and future) with constituents in order to capture the different stages of a donor or prospect’s lifecycle at the organization – from cultivation to solicitation to stewardship.
  • Capture detailed information on constituents and easily change or update the information
  • Enable fundraisers to see detailed gift information without having to ask database manager

Cons

  • The capabilities of lists are too limited and often do not provide enough information that fundraisers need, which makes them reliant on our database manger to pull information.
  • Merging records in RE NXT requires users to also merge in RE database
  • The capabilities of receipt/acknowledgment letter are too limited which result in users having to find other tools outside of Blackbaud
  • Support for issues is not consistent - some are highly knowledgeable, others not so much. When there is a widespread issue, not everyone is aware of the issue or how to fix it.

  • Time saved giving fundraisers the tools they need to manage their own portfolio and fundraising efforts as opposed to relying on database manager
We have found differences between reports in NXT and reports in database view, which makes it difficult to trust the reports in NXT and reliance on reports in database view.
  • Online Training
The training is okay, but there needs to be higher levels of training for more advanced database adminstrators.

Raiser's Edge (RE) NXT is well suited for allowing fundraisers to track actions related to constituents in their portfolio. The integration of Outlook and RE NXT, which allows users to add Actions from emails in Outlook, is such a lifesaver and points to the importance of integrations between different software and tools because there are so many these days. Pulling lists has been a challenge for fundraisers in our team because of the limited capabilities. Even if the lists are meant to be basic, more capabilities could be added.
