Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Catalyst 2960 X/XR Series
We have been using the Cisco Catalyst 2960-X / XR Series Switches for over 3 years at our branches. This equipment is robust and we have positioned it in the Access / Edge scenario. We have a small rack on each of the floors in the building and this switch connects employees' workstations and access points. The switches are stacked and have unified management facilitating our work. Another feature of this equipment is the power over ethernet technology, which aims to not need an external source for wifi access points.
- Switch stacks up to 8 switches and manages them all with a single IP.
- It has PoE with 740w and powers phones and access points.
- It has a redundant source and gives us more security.
- It has a lot of performance.
- It is a little expensive compared to other competitors.
- It does not support advanced layer 3 routes like OSPF.
- Durability and performance for at least 10 years.
- Guarantee and support with fast and efficient service.
Cisco Catalyst 2960-X / XR Series Switches have many benefits. The management is exemplary and easy to configure through the CLI. It has security features with blocking unauthorized ports, VLANs, STP, DHCP, SNTP, monitoring, and others. Everything works great and is easy to set up. The PoE ports are excellent and energize our APs and phones saving us from buying external sources.
We use Prime Infrastructure to manage everyone at once. But we also like to use the CLI individually in some places. We have images saved on flash drives to apply the settings after installation, but we can also do this remotely. Cisco management in general is great.
