Painless deployment with tremendous value

Cisco Secure Access by Duo allows our staff to securely access their cloud based and on premise accounts with a variety of authenticators. A major concern for our organization was the amount of compromised accounts due to password reuse. Duo has allowed us to secure those accounts from misuse and compromise by requiring a second factor of authentication.

Often, staff members reuse passwords on multiple websites, despite out policy to not re-use work passwords for personal use. Cisco Secure Access by Duo has prevented several account intrusion attempts for our organization due to this password re-use. When other external sites are compromised and the credential of users stolen, threat actors then attempt to breach our accounts using those stolen credentials. In the past, those attempts may have been successful if the password was reused. Now, even if the password was reused, the second factor of authentication from Duo kicks in and the threat actor is denied access.

After we federated Duo with Microsoft 365, we began experiencing significant issues with our Microsoft Intune deployment. Endpoints were no longer obtaining policy information and settings, and communications were spotty. The Duo engineer that worked with me on the phone not only completely resolved the issue in a timely manner, but stayed on a call with us while we tested to ensure everything was fully functional before ending the call.

The main challenges we faced was securing devices, but also securing account access. As staff needed to access more accounts when off premise, Cisco Secure Access with Duo allowed us to secure that access with multifactor authentication.
