Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

I work for the organization and library of an event at a large university. I am the financial person and building manager. I use Clickup to manage the payment (communication only) process. I track payments in a large and complex spreadsheet for reconciling purposes. I use Clickup as a tool for communication between myself and our coordinators. The coordinators can see what paperwork they must submit (this varies) for a specific vendor. The system allows them to see whether or not I have received specific forms in the "checklist" section, and we use the "progress completed" gauge there. I value Clickup most for the email feature. My team is not all on Clickup for their coordinator projects, so emailing is the best way to contact them if I have a specific question about a certain payment. Sometimes we pay the same person multiple times a semester, so the email link directly to the payment profile is extremely important.I also use Clickup for new employee orientation tasks. The new employee can see exactly what they need to do and when. Also, they can see what I'm working on, on their behalf.
  • Emails users that are not using the platform regularly
  • Creates a digital log of past projects for reflection and study
  • Allows transparency
  • Clickup moved the search Icon. I found it really easy to use where it was.
  • Maybe if we could see that an email was sent...people thought they sent me something in the past and they didn't know they had to assign the comment to me. Just a log with the time/date that the email was sent.
  • Overall, I recommend the platform to EVERYONE and I tried quite a few before choosing.
  • Productivity: Each division of our department had a separate tracking spreadsheet so having every division in one space has increased productivity for me and honestly I use it more because it is always open and more user-friendly than a spreadsheet.
  • Efficiency: The vendor payment tracking system seems to be more utilized by the coordinators than the spreadsheets and there are more features that empower them more. For example, they can see when I submit the payment so they can get back to their vendor with a typical timeline that they should wait another week before worrying that the payment has not arrived. The coordinator can do all this without bothering me.
  • Collaboration: Overall, I believe the tool has increase collaboration and comradery by easing what used to be a cumbersome and confusing process.
I'm excited to see the Library team utilize Clickup as a tool for organizing and transparency, but overall, our other team members are severely anti-digital and could better use the tool for project management but it's not my role to convince them or educate them beyond my sphere of financials. Clickup has vastly improved my life! When there is confusion over payment, I can quickly and easily show them what is still pending and how they can help.
I wish this was more applicable to our team. We are a very small staff (10) and in general, we work on our own isolated projects with the exception of the Library team. When our divisions overlap, ClickUp is a no-brainer for these types of collaborations and projects. If we host a conference again, I would strongly encourage the use of Clickup, especially as the pandemic rages on and people can be out for weeks at a time.
It was two years ago but I remember using a trial to test out both Trello and Asana. I found both to be a bit too simplistic if I remember correctly. I think I was confused about how to use them and they were not as customizable. I also remember that Clickup seemed to be the only platform that offered the email function. I know that orgs are trying to move away from email but for our purposes and level of buy-in, it seemed like the best option. Clickup seemed like the only platform that people could jump on with little to no introduction.

Do you think ClickUp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

Our library team is using Clickup for more transparency around tasks. They can check in and see progress and see how they can help if someone is out for an extended period. Clickup is so well-suited for tasks and projects. Clickup would be too cumbersome for use as a reconciling tool--I have over 22 accounts. OR it would be a big learning curve that I do not have time to take.
