Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Our business uses Concur Travel and Expense across the entire organization. It is used to book travel, to track expenses and reimbursements, and to provide approvals for requested expenses. It's very useful in its organization and automatic tracking of expenses to each individual employee, especially when multiple employees are traveling together or participating in the same training/event.

Pros

  • The booking features are very intuitive to use, like any other online booking service. The trip search allows you to book travel, transportation at the destination, and lodging.
  • Tracking an expense request is very easy and intuitive as well. The application tracks required approvals, authorization requests, invoices, available expenses for reporting, and open expense reports.
  • The application integrates e-receipts and allows for easy expense reporting and email notification of the progress of your approvals and expense reports.

Cons

  • It may depend on the customization to your own organization, but the interface is a bit crowded and redundant at some points.
  • There can be a large number of fields that require filling out in order to get the most effective use out of the application, which can require more training of employees on how to use the tool.
  • Time saved creating expense reports is a definite positive.
  • Reliable process with no missed steps in expense reporting, from request to report, has been a positive impact.
  • Peace of mind with information security and direct integration of booking and expenses.
I'm only aware of pre-built business solutions that have been integrated with our use of Concur Travel and Expense. The Lyft Business application allows for expenses to be reported directly through the Lyft app and leaves little room for forgotten or inaccurately reported expenses. Similarly, we use the Delta Airlines pre-built integration, which also assists in the automatic tracking of airfare expenses.
Overall, Concur Travel and Expense makes things much easier--having a central location for booking travel, requesting charge approvals, and creating expense reports. Notifications are automated to approvers and remove any risk of long outstanding approvals. The end-to-end integration within the app itself has proven to be intuitive, easy to use, and reliable.
In terms of employee experience, Concur Travel and Expense does require a bit of employee training, as there are a good number of fields that have to be completed in order to make the tool work best for you. In terms of use, it has lifted the burden off of our admin, as approvals go straight to the approval-granting parties with simple clicks, and requires less manpower overall.
Concur Travel and Expense is great for use in a larger organization--it allows for the tracking of many submissions and keeps expenses, requests, and general travel information very organized and easy to follow. The approval process is easy to use and requires little intervention, which is useful if you may have multiple requests from multiple individuals and overlapping timelines in your organization.
