Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight
Conductor is best used for keyword rank tracking and page level analysis of keyword optimization for SEO. We use Conductor on our SEO team primarily as a keyword rank tracking tool.
- Daily or weekly keyword rank tracking across local and international markets across many major search engines.
- Competitive analysis on what keywords competitors are ranking well for. Helps determine comparative market share for the sample set.
- Content optimization opportunities for the allocated keywords.
- Struggles with large data sets. We have over 40K keywords and the platform can become slow having this many keywords. Most users won't face this problem, however.
- Pricey. Conductor isn't cheap, but it's meant to be used as an enterprise SEO monitoring tool. It's on par with the price of similar, such as BrightEdge.
- Interface has become unintuitive. When I first started using Conductor, the interface was very clear, but as the platform has been built out, there are a lot of bells and whistles that make the platform more difficult to navigate.
- Conductor helps us group related keywords to quickly understand where we are winning and losing so that we can take action.
Compared with other similar enterprise tools (e.g. BrightEdge and Linkdex) Conductor has the best overall product. They are more advanced capability-wise compared to the offerings of Moz. I find that while Conductor may not be the first to implement a given feature, they usually go further when they do implement something and it feels like a baked product. I've never felt nickeled and dimed by Conductor and there are no extra charges when they roll out new features to the platform.
