Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We are an event supplier working in corporate and film /tv. So my staff works randomly 24/7 on an event-by-event basis. Deputy allows me to build rosters easily and quickly, updates are immediately available to staff as shifts often change at very short notice. I can include all the essential information with the shift so the guys know the what where when how.
  • Instant update to users of change or new shift
  • Easy for users to clock in and out
  • Quick to get details out for payroll
  • Prices competitive
  • The ability to move users around in the planner so as group people working together on a particular event
  • The ability to have a dummy use for freelance staff who does not use the app for planning purposes, without being charged as an additional user
  • Timesheets are now as close to accurate as possible gone are the days of paper timesheets being filled out a week in arrears
  • Being a cloud-based platform, it is easy to administer when not at the office especially during the last 18 months of intermittent working from home

Would you buy Deputy again?

Overall a good product has some features that we don’t use and a few things that would make it better
I have rolled it out in three different companies now so no problems at all
Current RMS, Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)
Deputy works reasonably well in the events industry as the frequent changes can be immediately updated by staff; our industry call times for one day can be changed at 7 o’clock the night before or even later and Deputy ensures that the information is quickly disseminated to the staff. The fact that you cannot attach things like call sheets and floorplans is, unfortunately, a downside. The GPS facility has eliminated the possibility of staff clocking in prior to arriving on-site as the majority of shifts start and end away from the office.

Using Deputy

14 - Hourly paid staff and a couple of admins
Staff arte informed of their shifts and cclock in and out in deputy.
2 - Myself and our logistics manager are the admins I have been using deputy at various places for the best part of 10 years so I know it well.
Have not found anything better yet....

Deputy Implementation

Change management was minimal - We transfered from paper time sheets and texts in the course of 7 days with no problems
