Overall Satisfaction with HCSS

Too many bells and whistles. Too many ways a novice can screw up an estimate.
HCSS information given in dribbles. I took the first class and asked all types of questions only to be told I need to take another class to learn that.
As an estimating tool.
  • Tracks several entity entries into same estimate
  • Shows any errors
  • Able to cut and paste activities
  • I'd like to see an "OOPS" application so you can back up if you input qty into wrong activity.
  • We've been having trouble with HCSS locking up while in use.
  • I'd like to see a take off application that loads directly into the HCSS system, bid item, activity, etc., instead of doing a take off in Excel then transferring that information to HCSS. Human error is a big factor.
We've had to make HCSS work as an electrical estimating tool. I like the Master Activity book and usage.
