Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Video

We use an external hardware video encoder made be Teradek (specifically the cube 600 series). That device is extremely easy and ustream has been accommodating and easy to work with.
I haven't really had any issue for what we're using Ustream for.
Ustream (IBM Cloud Video) is being used as our main streaming channel for our church. It is the virtual window into our services. It helps people tune in remotely or check out our services remotely if they've never participated in person. It is embedded on our website, and we use it for mobile viewing.

Pros

  • IBM Cloud Video's metrics are phenomenal. They allow us to gauge participation in our online presence, as well as chart virtual attendance trends throughout the year.
  • Ustream transcodes well; it looks great across most any device that can access it.
  • Ustream has been extraordinarily stable, and when we did have technical issues, they have been very responsive.

Cons

  • I wish the metrics allowed to see unique viewers on an hour by hour basis.
  • I wish Ustream allowed the user to rewind during a live broadcast.
  • I would like the call to action controls to be more accessible for those of us without much coding experience.
We are somewhat exempt from this question as our purpose is church member participation. But, because of what Ustream allows us to do, making the virtual experience as good as we can afford, has become a value to our organization.
It's priced right, and is extremely easy to set up.
