Overall Satisfaction with IBM Watson Assistant

We use IBM Watson Assistant as the brains behind our range of chatbots. Our chatbots support staff members across different areas to be equipped with the knowledge to help our customers.
  • Easy to train and increase bot confidence
  • Easy to create entities and nodes
  • Easy to create jump nodes
  • Easy to search conversation content
  • Some bugs after updates that aren't communicated well
  • Poor customer support when trying to solve these bugs
  • Errors are not well communicated and are difficult to solve without a lot of human problem solving
  • Unable to share detailed figures.
It's a short learning curve, anyone can become a Watson expert with some practice and guidance from an experienced trainer. The interface is easy to read and navigate. There are some bugs as I have mentioned that may come and go, so there is some essence of instability. Overall a good interface.
These features are so helpful, the intent recommendations are heavily relied on by my team. We don't use voice integration much as there is no business case for the feature within my organization. The disambiguation feature is great and customizable, we rely on it heavily when our users treat our chatbot like Google search and give one-worded input. I also enjoy the synonym recommendations when creating new entities.
I have also used Microsoft's LUIS for conversation design. Whilst the platforms look similar, IBM offers some nuanced features that make the day to day experience easier for chatbot designers.

This platform [IBM Watson Assistant] is well suited for basic conversations that have limited flows, when your content grows larger it can be difficult to navigate. We use this on a daily basis and the platform can sometimes randomly kick you out. But otherwise, it is reliable for building a chatbot over time.
