Overall Satisfaction with IntelliJ IDEA
My day-to-day work involves Java development and version control related tasks. IntelliJ IDEA is a very use full editor that solves many aspects of the development. Switching between branches, committing the changes is very straightforward. I find it very easy to write Java code in this IDE because of the simple and straightforward UI.
- UI is very intuitive
- Built-in IntelliSense for Java
- A lot of plugins to try out
- Performance and CPU usage
- It would be great if Intellij has a workspace concept
- Intellij can improve on handling large projects.
- A lot of plugins to use
- IntelliSense
- Super cool UI--especially the viewing modes
- Version control makes the day-to-day activity super easy, so increased efficiency.
- It helps a developer to comfortably and easily write code.
- IntelliSense increased the productivity and increased the speed of writing code.
UI--IntelliJ IDEA is the winner.
IntelliSense--Again, IntelliJ IDEA is the winner.
Performance and CPU usage - IntelliJ IDEA has a lot of room to improve on this. Eclipse handle the large projects more effectively than IntelliJ IDEA.
Work on large projects--Eclipse is an easy-to-use IDE when it comes to handling complex and large projects. (Workspace concept in Eclipse is useful in this case.)
