Overall Satisfaction with Joomla!
It was suggested (more like selected) by a development company as the only CMS for a client with multiple localizations, and I'm running two of those sites (Spain and Latin America). The site was implemented by that company and I am only in charge of maintenance/security for the client.

- Statistics
- Localization
- Terrible for updates (compared with alternatives)
- Poor in links customization (for SEO)
- A big learning curve (takes time to learn where options are and easily forgotten)
- Too much time spent on maintenance
- We got locked in an older version because the upgrade wasn't straightforward
- Easily breaks when PHP is updated
As a user, it is more than OK for those standard daily operations like publishing and editing or comment management. As a developer, I have a very different perspective. Joomla! is not my favorite platform. Only ready-to-use tools like Wix can be less friendly than having to configure Joomla! for myself or others. It has more potential than BlogSpot (that one has been frozen for a decade now and can't be taken seriously as a contender) but is no match for WordPress.
