Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF
We often get PDFs that are not searchable and need to be edited. I have used this tool to combine separate pdfs into a single pdf and extracting individual pages and saving them separately. I use for privacy and redacting to file with local courts and removing metadata. Last, I use the OCR recognition to by making pdf searchable/highlighting. Makes faster reviews of large documents.

- No substantial criticisms. However, as a competitor to Adobe, it is often not considered a default program for Microsoft or our document management system
- Text boxes are difficult to use at times
- converting to MS Word feature is clunky at times
- It works well with removal of metadata and redacting which is essential.

Generally speaking, i would agree with that it is easy to use. I have found it easy to select screengrabs from a pdf and insert into a Word document. It makes for effective to insert the original as opposed to trying to recreate by typing. I would also say that it is easy to use text box to label pdfs and bates label documents which helps with organization.
There is no comparison between Reader and Kofax Power PDF. Kofax Power PDF allows you to truly work with pdfs and create usable documents. OCR, redaction and removal of metadata is essential to my line of business. We need to be able to mark up documents and comment. Kofax allows us to bates number large pdfs for ease of use and organization.

We mostly use the features involving converting pdfs to make them searchable via OCR. We also use the redaction and removal of meta data which must be removed to be able to file with local courts and part of the litigation discovery process. It is also useful to bates number documents for organization and ease of use.
