Power PDF Advanced

Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

Power PDF was chosen as our replacement for Acrobat. It is used for document production and discovery. The Bates Stamp feature and the redaction feature are far superior to Acrobat's, in both ease of use and performance. The greater efficiency in Power PDF means that the enormous documents that we are working with can be handled with more alacrity.
  • Document production for large matters.
  • File Redaction for privileged documents.
  • Bates Stamping for case organization.
  • Forms editing.
  • Print routines could be handled better.
  • Signatures and file stamps could be more intuitive.
  • Cost savings over our previous product.
  • Greater flexibility over Acrobat's subscription based application.
  • Cleaner interface than Acrobat.
Most of our users are lacking in technical experience and Power PDF is, for the most part, significantly more intuitive and easier to use than Acrobat. Users are able to move through complex exhibits and Discoveries with ease and without the difficulty and performance issues that we were previously experiencing.
Power PDF is designed for creation and editing of documents and is much more intuitive and cost effective than our prior products.
I have not yet needed to contact technical support. I have been able to resolve any functionality issues using the Power PDF interfaces and help pages.

Evaluating Kofax Power PDF and Competitors

Yes -
Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Adobe had gone to a subscription model, similar to Office 365 and that didn't fit our needs.
  • Price
  • Product Usability
That we were able to purchase the license instead of purchasing a subscription
The selection process provided the answer that we were looking for. The only thing that we might look for is more information on any education programs available for the software.
