Overall Satisfaction with LastPass for Business
We use LastPass to share credentials securely with our coworkers. For example, if I want to share the WiFi password with a new coworker, I'll use LastPass.
- Tracks usage and nudges your employees to switch onto LastPass if they haven't been using it (very useful for SOC-2 compliance).
- Auto-fill works very smoothly and properly predicts the username and password field to fill in 99+% of the time.
- Makes it easy and secure to share passwords with coworkers.
- UI is not nearly as clean or beautiful as 1Password (which I use on my personal laptop).
- Browser plugin semi-rarely crashes without warning or error message and stop opening until you restart browser.
- Users access their accounts more easily and securely.
- IT has less work to do making sure employees are using secure passwords.
- Everyone feels more secure about not getting hacked.
As I alluded to, I personally prefer 1Password's UI/UX, though it is about twice as expensive as LP ($7/month/user vs $3). However, it's hard to put a price on security. I always believe the less obtrusive/confusing security is to implement, the more likely that security won't be bypassed by your employees, and hence 1Password is more secure than LP even if its level of encryption/security features are essentially the same. I was personally against purchasing LP over 1PW actually, but my friends in IT say they are now thinking about switching to 1PW.
