Overall Satisfaction with Linode
Linode provides the virtual private server (VPS) for our websites and other online servers.
- Amazing service- tickets are dealt with promptly, politely, and with positive resolutions.
- Reliable, easy to manage, and with superb value for money. Many services are charged by usage- e.g., I needed to enable backup while resolving an issue with our regular backup strategy. $5/month was very reasonable- but I only needed it for a few days. Happily surprised when the bill was only ~25 cents more because the $5 was prorated!
- Solid self-serve management options.
- One-click marketplace to deploy many popular web services.
- Good documentation.
- Availability of servers around the world.
- More documentation- I sometimes find myself finding answers on other virtual private server providers' websites.
- Positive ROI; I usually self-host as our needs are modest. However very glad I moved our public services to Linode. It's proved much faster (bandwidth, server performance) and more reliable. Much less time spent maintaining equipment than before.
Linode has proven reliable, performant, and great value for money.
Uptime is not absolutely critical for us; however given our experience with Linode so far, I'd be very happy to use their services for something that was critical!
