Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

Although there are videos and help, getting started is very difficult unless you watch a good amount of provided videos or have previous experience with tool like Lucidchart. I would go so far as to say that teams should have someone experienced who can train everyone else, otherwise, there's hours of learnings on the fly that will need to happen, which means, hours of mistakes and learning the hard way. I guess it's like this for most new tools, but there are so many features in this tool, getting started is likely going to be more difficult for newbies.
I use it to take the place of Visio and Power Point in most cases. I also use it to share ideas over video conferences and to provide coaching or training.

  • The snap feature is unforgiving I feel. I might not want an arrow to be in a particular node on another line, however, it's very hard to move the arrow to where I want it to be. I just think the snap feature could be a little more flexible when users are trying to manage location shapes.
  • Sometimes, not always, when items are grouped, it can be challenging to select specific items in the grouping. A lot of double clicking required sometimes, depending on the shapes/images and how close they are.
  • I have all related work in one area (Saves Time)
  • Sharing is easy
  • Lots of options for images or shapes
I've not integrated Lucidcharts with anything else.

Most of the scenarios I would use PowerPoint and/or Visio, but I also use Lucidchart.
