Overall Satisfaction with Marketo Marketing Automation

Marketo is being used in our organization by one of our brands for - email marketing, lead management, sales & marketing alignment, nurturing, etc. We use Marketo in marketing but also offer a large number of our sales team MSI (Marketo Sales Insight), which is a plugin for SFDC.

I could go on and on about how Marketo helps with lead qualification (scoring and alerts), emails (design, nurtures, automation), etc but my favorite thing about Marketo is how they care about their customers. The support is great as is the community, between the two you can always get questions answered and problems solved and feel comfortable collaborating. They also listen to ideas and implement some into new releases. I'd recommend Marketo.

Honestly, you shouldn't even compare the two. Silverpop isn't set up to support and automate the way Marketo is.
I've only used Marketo at companies that also have SFDC as their CRM. So I can't speak to how well it works otherwise. I'd recommend in the integration and beginnings stages to work with a consultant. This just ensures you understand and learn the product and they can help set you up how you want in the beginning so you don't have to back-track later as you're learning.
