Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We were hitting the limits of DNS queries using a Standard DNS service, and were looking for a premier service which could handle volume, as well as provide some failover capability.
  • Redundancy.
  • Resiliency.
  • Failover capability.
  • The ability to configure advanced DNS properties.
  • Pricing...however, this is to be expected with any enterprise-grade product.
  • Helped us avoid slowness in resolving DNS queries.
  • Helped us cut costs associated with going over monthly query allowance with standard DNS services.
  • Minimized site downtime and latency.
The free DNS service included with a domain purchase cannot perform advanced functions like automatic failover to another IP with low TTL.
I can't give a 10, because I've never had to contact support. The product just works, and is relatively simple to understand.
We were able to get setup and going relatively easily. It has allowed us to create DNS records other providers simply did not provide.
This is a product targeted at the enterprise market, where site failover and recovery are required. In our use case, it allowed us to set up automatic failover of DNS in place of having to implement BGP routing. Unless you have millions of monthly queries on your domain, this product is probably not necessary for you.
