Overall Satisfaction with Revel Systems
Revel Systems was used across multiple departments at our Performing Arts organization, including restaurants, concessions bars, and opera shop. The senior managers wanted a user-friendly POS system with robust reporting and inventory tracking, as well as grant us the ability to use credit cards at all of our concessions bars. We started using it for our restaurants and bars and later expanded usage to include opera shop and online orders.
- In-depth reporting for sales and inventory tracking
- Intuitive and easy-to-use UI
- Helpful support from Revel with the Enterprise system
- Fairly easy to create APIs to other systems
- We experienced multiple system failures when first implementing Revel.
- Occasionally we would have separate orders/tables merge or disappear entirely, which we could not attribute to user error.
- Some reporting limitations that our finance department needed
- Our sales definitely increased after the implementation of Revel Systems as we were able to accept all forms of payment at all concessions bars, whereas previously only two of the bars accepted credit cards.
- Revel made it a lot easier to track inventory and, when used properly, can create and submit purchase orders when your stock is low, which ultimately created a lot less work.
- On the other hand, there was extensive work going into getting the system set up to our needs, and we often had to pay a lot in overtime and customization in order to get the system where we needed it to be to suit our needs, which got expensive after a while.
Revel Systems has a much more intuitive user interface and reporting suite than Micros, which was our previous POS system. It's also more equipped to handle multiple types of service than something like Square. We ultimately went with Revel because of the inventory tracking function. We thought it stacked up better against its competitors.
