Overall Satisfaction with RStudio
It is being used across my organization. In general, it addresses the problem of selecting an IDE for the development of R scripts. For my group, use of RStudio Server and RSConnect addresses the problem of collaboratively developing and deploying R Shiny apps.
- Generally great IDE for R script development.
- Has functionality tailored to useful R packages, e.g. streamlined shiny app deployment.
- Integration with GitBash terminal is really helpful.
- Stability: sometimes crashes unexpectedly.
- Moving script tabs around is clunky.
- Documentation about all of its great functionality could be improved.
- R shiny applications have been deployed for use by non-coders.
- Collaborative development practices have been established in my group using RStudio.
- Accessible IDE has been available.
RStudio offers less out-of-the-box point and click solutions than other products, but it allows for custom solution development and its integration with the Shiny package in particular allows for the custom development of point and click solutions.
