Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is our enterprise accounting platform for our managed hotel portfolio.
Pros
- Automates AP cycle with online approvals.
- Easy interaction with GL and API access for feeder systems.
- Reliable report writing function for professional-looking financials.
Cons
- There are various configurations depending on your business structure. Each has limitations, overall you just need to be well educated in the possibilities to ensure you've got the right one for the long term.
- Someone put in a date on an AP item of 1801 by mistake, we couldn't fix it and it cost nearly $1k and a week for the engineers to fix it as it created downstream API effects we could not ignore. We learned an expensive lesson.
- Would like to be able to manage financial reports in a distributed environment at the top of the house instead of manually recreating in ~70 different companies.
- By leveraging Intacct at each property we can share resources when needed to fill in and we can scale the processes where centers of excellence make sense, taking advantage of the cloud.
We have a custom chart of accounts specific to our industry that we can replicate with new entities as we obtain them, so the on-boarding process for a new company is very manageable. Our API linkage to our BI tool enables industry-specific budgeting and forecasting methods to utilize to our advantage.
