Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)
We use it to poll our devices across our Network. It helps provide information on the used IP addresses along with manufacture of the device, MAC address and Hostname. You can also manually enter the information. It is a great tool to document the IP addresses so that you don't duplicate them.
- Device polling
- Device information - MAC address, hostname, and manufacturer
- Pie Chart - Gives you an easy way to tell how many IPs you have used.
- The larger the database, the slower it responds.
- The polling engine will freeze from time to time.
- Export to CSV
- Save time when assigning addresses
- Ease of looking up hostname with IP address
- Keeps you from using duplicate addresses
SolarWinds IP Address Manager runs slower than the other applications but provides more information than just the IP and hostname. SolarWinds IP Address Manager also has a graphical representation of the used, reserved, unused, etc. The cost is greater than the others but depending on your needs, it seems worth it.
