Overall Satisfaction with SpringCM
We use SpringCM as a contract repository and as a tracker for renewal/termination/expiration date tracker. It is used by the legal department but supports the entire organization. We had a problem locating contracts, determining which contracts were in effect and missing key renewal or termination deadlines.
Pros
- You can easily find contracts once you put them in the system.
- Can set up your own contract attributes.
- Support is fantastic.
Cons
- Does not automatically convert contracts into searchable text.
- Need to manually set up reminders which leaves room for human error.
- No easy way to see what terms we have agreed to in other contracts.
- Positive - has helped us track renewals which allows us to get out of "bad" contracts or renew "good" ones.
- Negative - we had hoped for it to help us determine which terms and conditions we have agreed to in other contracts. This has made contract review remain a lengthy process.
- Positive - We are now able to find all of our contracts which has helped us get out of unnecessary contracts (which positively impacts finances).
We selected SpringCM because we needed just a basic contract repository. We did not need a full contract life cycle product.
