Overall Satisfaction with Square for Retail

It is used for a good portion of the orders the company receives. It makes the purchasing of the product, via wholesale orders easier to execute and manage. Some customer orders are also done via Square. Most customer orders are done through Woo Commerce though. I have also used square for in-person retail at previous employers.
  • Wholesale orders
  • Online sales
  • In person retail
  • Donation receiving via door-to-door fundraising
  • Ability to set orders to "in process" vs just "unpaid" and "paid"
  • More efficient readers
  • More detailed invoices
  • Ease of use
  • Ease of access
  • Not too restricted
  • More sales capabilities
  • Easier to distinguish wholesale from customer orders
  • Comforts people who are making donations to an organization
Square is just the first to get into the game. It's also easier to complete a transaction in person, while Apple Pay and Google Pay are better suited for self-serve online transactions.

I would rather use Square while I am out shopping. I would prefer to use Apple Pay or Google Pay for all online shopping

Did implementation of Square for Retail go as expected?

Would you buy Square for Retail again?

Yes

Square for retail is well suited for mom and pop shops, pop up stores, farmer's markets, door-to-door fundraising, flea markets, etc. It is not well suited for big box stores, fancy restaurants, places that only accept cash, etc. Overall, most places that take a card should be able to use Square.
