Overall Satisfaction with Square POS

Square is used across our organization. It is the way we collect payments from clients using credit cards. This allows both therapists and office staff to collect credit card payments easily. This eliminates the wait for a secretary to do the processing and helps to not miss payments when office staff is not available.
  • It can easily work from any smartphone or tablet.
  • It allows us to use chips, swipe or manually enter the card number.
  • It allows set up for recurring payments.
  • The recurring payments are tricky to do and storing credit card numbers was easier in the past.
  • The card reader does not always connect to the phone creating a delay in payment and sometimes needing to manually enter the number.
  • It has decreased the amount of time 'running down' payments for those who forgot their checkbooks or cash.
  • The additional fees for manually entering when you capture a signature is not appreciated.
  • The Square fees are less than bank fees for processing credit cards.
This is the only product in this category I have used. The old 'swipe from the bank' processors do not compare.
Square takes some time to get someone to answer your questions. They prefer you use the FAQ page on their website. The most frustrating is when the app needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. This is time-consuming and usually happens when you have a customer waiting. It would be nice if the app would keep the password when it updates.

Do you think Square POS delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Square POS's feature set?

Yes

Did Square POS live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Square POS go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Square POS again?

Yes

Square works well where there is not a high volume and there is time to recharge the reader. When it is only needed for a few transactions at a time works well. I would avoid using it where there is a constant need for credit card transactions. The connection can be slow at times.
