Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This program is being used as a program for sharing and distributing charts and graphics between departments. We especially like how many options it gives you for customizing the charts. Like a more functional pivot table. It helps our users share their data in a method that is user friendly and easy for end users to interpret.

Alternatives Considered

For years I have had to use excel pivot tables for sharing charts and graphs and this has allowed for a easier set up. I've enjoyed creating graphs and charts on Tableau Desktop and it's much easier to share my work with other users and they don't need to understand how to use pivot tables.

Usability

I'm giving Tableau a 7 as I think it's a great product but definitely has some room to grow to make it's mark in the market place. I'd definitely purchase it again because they've been great about keeping their product up to date with the times and I actually enjoy using it for sharing my information.

Support Rating

Their support team has been very helpful, especially when we were getting set up early on. Always ready to assist with any questions and walk us through any problems we had.

Likelihood to Recommend

Tableau Desktop is well suited for higher education. Many organizations will find it useful but being in higher ed I can say that it has been very helpful with sharing data and allowing easy visualization for end users. It might not be the most beneficial for organizations that need fine tuning of graphs and charts, but definitely a great start for anyone needing to share their data.
