Overall Satisfaction with Teamcenter

We help people make use of non-Siemens CAD systems with Teamcenter. This helps enlarge the breadth of users that Siemens solutions can support.
  • Define and enforce standards
  • Users can focus on their key value and avoid wasted time
  • Enables cad-agnostic view of data for downstream users
  • Implementation needs to incorporate more user and people change aspects
  • Overwhelming array of functions and lack of clarity of how to make a choice
  • Customer management has unrealistic expectations that are influenced by the need to get a sale.
  • General maturity as a product
  • Siemens customer attitude
  • most ROI items are hard to measure since avoiding issues and not having to do things is hard to quantify
  • consistency of information is possible
Teamcenter has a unique way of collecting data that is different (Items) but works well once you have made the mental switch. Other systems are more object/relationship based.
Windchill is quite mature and within the areas it overlaps Teancenter is quite competent. Enovia continues to evolve, but it's focus is on CATIA and with continual updates is not as stable as Teamcenter.

Do you think Teamcenter delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Teamcenter's feature set?

Yes

Did Teamcenter live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Teamcenter go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Teamcenter again?

Yes

Teamcenter is appropriate for companies that are large enough to understand the need for the rigor of plm. For really small companies that may not see the value of managing data or do not have the needed infrastructure it may not be worth it. Large companies need to appreciate the challenge of modernizing their processes and expectations to move to a next generation way of working.
