Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks
TIBCO is used to integrate between various legacy/core systems in my organization. It is also used to expose the API to partners/vendors. It is also used for a few batch processes too.
- By using TIBCO BusinessWorks, coding is really fast/easy and if the code is developed by following proper standards the process is very stable, and it does a good job of integrating with the other systems.
- TIBCO BusinessWorks provides lots of pallets/activities in order to achieve integration and business functionality.
- Extremely good product support from TIBCO BusinessWorks.
- Tibco Businessworks does not have support for the REST and JSON in 5.X; we needed to buy a separate plugin for REST and JSON.
- Now Tibco has BW 6.X which is very different from BW 5.X, it needs better migration tools to migrate from BW 5.X to BW 6.X.
- BW 6.X is not as stable and easy to use as BW 5.X.
- Positive ROI - Since BW code development is fast and easy, overall project time lines come down.
- Positive ROI - Stable TIBCO BW ensures less maintenance personnel required to maintain the TIBCO infrastructure
- Positive ROI - Shorter learning curve for developers - the integrated help and examples provide self learning
Since it has drag and drop features, this enables the developer to visualize the bigger picture rather than worrying about environment related minor details. It is a highly stable/more efficient tool and I haven't seen many [instances] of the tool crashing during development as I have seen with other integration suites.
The mapping utility of TIBCO BusinessWorks is simply amazing and easy to use.
The level of difficulty in testing the vanilla BW process is very low, as a developer can test it from a local desktop. Or we can create the easily deployable EARs to test.
We migrated from Microsoft BizTalk as it was not scalable and easy to use and maintain. On the contrary, TIBCO is easy to use/deploy/scalable and easy to maintain.
