Worth spending the time to track your time!
Overall Satisfaction with Toggl
Toggl deals with the most critical issue my business faces - where is time actually being spent? On which projects and which clients. As a sole trader I use it for everything I do and it is brilliant. Due to the fact that it is so simple to use and very, very easy to get the data that I need the most - what I have spent my time on.
Pros
- Chrome integration.
- Recording time on the app.
- Quick and easy reporting of time.
Cons
- Linking time to cost/billing.
- Linking time to invoicing e.g. connecting to something like Xero.
- Adding new clients/projects is a little cumbersome.
- Can see how much time is being spent.
- Can see which clients are being over/under-serviced.
- Can see what % of time is being devoted to different clients/projects.
- Harvest
Harvest has a much more integrated feel for desktop and mobile and the reporting is much, much quicker in terms of time spent. There is also a much clearer functionality to log expenses. It is also more responsive in terms of starting and stopping the watch and setting up projects/codes. But Toggl has a Chrome extension which makes using it quicker than having to open an entire browser page (seconds matter!), I think there is an outlook integration with Harvest but I have not used it.
