Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365
Veeam has been a lifeline to our company. What originally started out as just a data protection scenario to protect from data loss because of cloud issues or accidental deletion has become a recurring resource for recovering emails and files associated with terminated users without the need of archiving a physical copy of users profiles to local storage. We have also seen the benefits that come with SharePoint recovery when someone gets too zealous cleaning up a company directory.
- The product is simple to set up with step by step instructions.
- Licensing is straightforward and cost effective.
- Exploring backups and recovery are quick and easy to test.
- Deleting users can be tricky. Multiple PowerShell scripts must be run to remove data and license from the platform.
- When a backup for an object fails there is no clear reason why.
- No full screen mode that I have found so results windows are hard to read.
- It has completed my initial step towards a comprehensive BDR Solution.
- C-level employees have peace of mind their information cannot just disappear.
- Providing an airgap of our information in case of Ransomware attacks.
When I first started with the organization there wasn't much vision to the future of the IT needs. I quickly started to identify shortfalls and Veeam was a major player in closing the BDR/data loss hole. Having the partnership with Wasabi cut my research time for storage and practices to a minimum.
One of my favorite features of the Veeam Backup for O365 is the ability to recover single objects without having to wait for the whole store to populate before then going to the specific object. I can follow the tree down to the exact thing and restore that alone or the whole containing folder.
