Integration with other tools (the API is excellent!)

LICENSING -- the model doesn't allow for a self-service/timesheet user license, so we're paying for full access when we don't need it. Very expensive and very painful. One of the main reasons we're leaving.
Resource Management - not very powerful or flexible.
Baselining projects and tracking changes is severely limited.

Return on Investment

WorkFront moved us forward leaps and bounds for managing projects and having full visibility into project finances across our operating divisions. HUGE.
Unfortunately, it also made us realize those silos were severely limiting, so we needed to move to a unified financial and PM/ERP suite.
Timesheet management was excellent; just wish they didn't require us to pay $500 per license per year (before discounts).
Collaboration tools are mediocre; not great, not awful.

WorkFront is a very powerful project management tool. It's not a resource management tool, yet. The finance system is good, but it doesn't tie into our current system (which is one of the reasons we're moving away from WorkFront and QuickBooks so we can have a unified solution).

You'll be happy to hear that we are making significant improvements to our resource management capabilities that will address a lot of the requirements that our customers and the market have identified as needs. Our collaboration, project tracking and mobile capabilities have been enhanced over the past year significantly and we have far surpassed a lot of our competitors and similar solutions on the market in those feature sets. We appreciate that you are making substantial improvements; I'm certain they will be useful. The rest of the software has been a great tool for us. Unfortunately, we're on our way to another platform this fall which will combine our financial systems and work management into a single unified platform, which will require us to leave the WorkFront family; that was one of the most challenging elements we faced when making this decision. We wish the WorkFront teams well!

  Also, I have to disagree on the mobile solution, respectfully. Most other solutions I've seen are quite far ahead of WorkFront's offerings at this point. That was another real drawback. Improvements are being made, but there are some glaring holes.
