Well suited: environments that crave social affirmation, social competition, or other organizations that can't incentivize success via compensation.Not well-suited: environments that support several similar roles that have different metrics. Example: we have 5 similar roles at my company that would benefit from Ambition, and each of these teams sits close to each other. It's challenging to customize Ambition to display multiple different roles with different metrics, rewards, and content. If you display the content on a screen in your office, it's best suited for only one role/team. Otherwise, you'll likely need to deploy Ambition to different teams separately, via a different account.

  • Opportunity Analysis - provides objective analysis and feedback based on activity and the depth of the relationships needed to close an opportunity.
  • Forecasting - provides excellent information on committed, upside and pipeline deals, and provides great insight into the health of the deals contained within
  • Integrates - Provides seamless integration, and leverages data from multiple sources to provide its analysis and guidance. Emails, meetings, and contacts are all gotten from Microsoft Exchange, and married with the opportunity information coming from Microsoft CRM. Elements like relationship mapping are added by SalesDirector.ai, and these combined data sets provide insights not easily obtained by these various sources individually.
  • Reporting - An ever growing set of reports that helps sales people and sales managers improve their approaches and performance.

Ambition

  • Customization: Ambition offers specific features that can be hard to adapt to the exact metrics or content you want to show.
  • Reminders: I'd like to opt into notifications via email of key milestones, reminders to change content, etc.
  • Expensive: it's an expensive product for what you get. We don't offer incentive comp, so it's helpful to have a tool like this to socially celebrate success.

  • I don't have enough experience with this or other sales forecasting, sales coaching tools to recommend changes. The interface isn't perhaps the prettiest I have seen, but it gives the user the information in an easy to understand form. And most sales reps hate any new system, and all of ours seemed to be able to use the software and get information about their deals from the software quickly after they started using it.

  • We rolled out a new metrics launch AND Ambition at the same time. Metrics attainment has risen significantly.
  • Some reps love seeing the results publicly, and some despise it. It highly depends on the sales culture of your team. The "non-salesy" types at our company only want to know their own metrics, and not participate in sales competitions or publicize the results.

  • Positive. We have better insights into our deals. We can see when deals are getting bogged down, or when a deal may not close, even before the sales rep recognizes this.
  • It makes it much easier to accurately call your monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Our sales managers use it for their weekly one-on-one meetings with their rep and virtually no additional work is required of the rep or manager.
