Reporting is leaps and bounds above Quickbooks. Additionally, having the segregation of duties and being able to define what each user is able to access is incredibly helpful.

  • Only have to process one check request for multiple jurisdiction payments

  • Reporting - We are able to build custom reports that drive decisions from above.
  • Project driven expenses - We are able to see the spend on a project basis and break it down by department to further determine the extent of each department's impact on each project.
  • Separation of entities - We have three entities that roll up into one for reporting. We are able to review expenses for each specific entity and track them separately.

  • Sage Intacct's reporting capabilities are boundless and impressive, but I wish there were more readily available (and low-cost) training, even if it's DIY training. The reporting function is complex - although certainly worth the time to learn it.
  • I have found that the main menu of modules changes around frequently, which is a little frustrating. Perhaps I just need to change my settings to have it stay fixed.
  • Sometimes adding an item to a list (expense type, bank account, etc.) is difficult in that the various connections you need to make to the new item aren't always obvious and can take significant time to figure out.

I have 25 years of accounting experience, I've used 10-plus different accounting programs, and implemented two. I have never used another software this user friendly and with such a flexible system for creating custom reports. My questions to Intacct have been about what's possible, not "why doesn't this work when it worked yesterday", or "how do I get this done". It's fairly intuitive and easy to figure out. There are a few features I was happy to have implementer help on, but I had almost no training before diving in

currently you must submit a ticket via the customer portal and then wait for a response. The time you must wait for the response varies based on the urgency of your request. Sometimes you just need a quick response and a phone call would be easier or even a live chat ~ would love to see them roll that out instead of having to wait when you have a question or issue.

The training is designed for implementing intacct as opposed to utilizing intacct. I think that both are necessary to learn, but wish there was continued training for using it once Intacct is in place for the users.

I have not used other products. We use to create multiple check requests every month to process different payments in house.

When comparing products, Sage Intacct had the best level of configurable customization within a cost level that we would be able to handle. It also had the smoothest user interface of the various products I reviewed. It is light years ahead of the product that we had been using prior to implementing Sage Intacct, 'Procas'.
