UKG delivers cloud-based HCM solutions including UKG Pro that help businesses simplify payroll computations, accelerate talent acquisition, manage time and attendance, and support proactive, strategic talent management on a global level.
Having Payroll, HR, Time, and Benefits all in a single application with Dayforce has significantly improved efficiency and accuracy. Unlike other solutions with third-party integrations, Dayforce eliminates data silos, reduces errors, and saves time by streamlining processes, …
Due to it being an all-in-one application, we are able to
look at the information that is stored and make meaningful and accurate
decisions based on that info instead of trying to pull information from

We have noticed huge time savings across a variety of processes.

We are still integrating our benefits from a third-party module, but having all other modules in a single application has led to cleaner data and more accurate information in one centralized location, which is a definite time saver.
It makes it easier for our staff from the employee level and from the leadership level. Keeping everything in one spot is much easier to manage and keep up with.
All of the info for Payroll, HR updates, employee updates, Time worked and PTO are in a single application, with a single login, updated in every screen or module in real time. There is no lag in data from screen to screen or from user to user, its almost instant.
There is a lot less room for error when everything is in one platform. All parties that need to be involved are notified in a timely manner, which allows us to provide better service for our staff. There's less paperwork with this process, and a lot less for us to worry about …
Time saving...UKG systems do not speak to each other well and it makes for time wasted and headaches. To get something done in ADP you need to make multiple calls and waste time speaking to multiple people. ADP GL creation is so complicated that I as never able to really make …
There are a bunch of other products like Dayforce that I've evaluated over the past 5-10 years, just took too long to select them but as a general statement, there are not many of the major HRIS tools that I haven't explored at any given time. We've hit on the single …
HR was using UltiPro in the past and payroll was using a different system we had to have files sent daily between the systems and now with one system we no longer have to transmit the files daily.
I haven't used the other applications so I can't objectively compare but it has definitely made a difference having a single application on our business.
We had been using Ultimate before we fully converted to Ceridian. The difference is amazing. We love being in a single system and Ultimate could not provide electronic scheduling and that feature was a big seller for us. With 2800 mostly part time hourly employees it is …
The only difference that I have seen is that I no longer have to import the timesheets, although we do still import from a third party for one particular specialized group.
End users not adopting the product. Time is money in our industry and our employee base knows it. It is extremely important to reduce the effort and time required.
The transition of our timesheets to Dayforce was immensely helpful as we can monitor associate time in real-time in one place. The benefits of this are overtime tracking/prevention. We can also monitor costs and time errors at any point during the period without having to …
We evaluated Ceridian along with UltiPro and chose UltiPro because of functionality, flexibility, price, and customer service. We moved from ADP Vantage to UltiPro. UltiPro is less expensive, much more flexible, has more functionality, Ultimate is much more responsive in …
UKG [Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] is much easier to use and navigate than Ceridian. It is also much more robust whereas Ceridian is very generic
When I first arrived at BAMSI we were using Ceridian. UKG has made things a lot easier for our administrative staff, managers, HR and payroll department.
It was more advanced and modern than ADP Enterprise HR, so we switched to get away from the "User must be local Administrator" security issues ADP Enterprise HR had (Before they went cloud), but ultimately we left UKG Pro due to the many shortfalls and went to Ceridian Dayforce,…
Comparing to Workday, first thing you think of is cost. UKG has a better support system and support team. Engages well with customers and is not '3rd partied' out when it comes to support. Compared to Ceridian, in my opinion UKG is easier to use, easier to navigate, and also …
When it comes to service and support, there is no comparison between UKG, Ceridian, ADP, Workday or other HCM vendors out there. The support that we have received over the previous three years has been the best I've ever experienced in my 15+ years of working in human resources …
UKG Pro and Paycom are very similar in the base function they are used for, timecards and scheduling. While I have never worked on the administrative side of Paycom, I do feel that the employee/customer facing part of the software was a bit better than UKG. It was easier to …
The decision making was done by our US team, they chose this as it seemed like the best option at the time. The level of service that we have been receiving lately, makes us wish we had chosen Workday. When UKG is working well it is fine, but when it is not it is very …
I prefer Time and Attendance in Dayforce over the Time Management product we are using with UKG Pro. I prefer Payroll, HR Administration, and Reporting in UKG Pro. I also prefer UKG Pro's self-service options that allow me to find out how to utilize the system more effectively …
UKG has a more user-friendly reporting tool (Cognos) than Workday and ADP. I appreciate the ease of getting reports on the fly without security limitations. Self Service is a key factor for our employees as UKG is easy to navigate through the system and is much more …
UKG Pro offers almost everything we need and integrates well between modules and with external vendors. It is for the most part extremely intuitive and easy to use both as a user and administrator. Being able to report on almost all data fields in the system is extremely …
UKG Pro won hands-down. The flexibility, the family feel of the partnership, the customer support model, the reporting, the scalability, and the custom-programming needs of company-specific items were all much better than the competitors. The cost comparison also came in either …
The three most important factors that lead us to UltiPro: Product Implementation - UltiPro provided a dedicated implementation team. All team members were very knowledgeable, extremely patient, and provided great feedback. Cost - price negotiation was a key element. UltiPro …
UltiPro's reporting capability and the ability to easily see employment, compensation, and job history in a logical format and screen view were are main reasons for selecting UltiPro.
I think Dayforce is a great option for a large and/or Global organization. I do not think it would be the best fit for a very small company or business. It really shines for enterprise organizations with multi-locations. While a small business could use it, I would say it has too many bells and whistles that might feel overwhelming to a smaller organization.
As a hospital with 1300 employees, we find that UKG is fully scalable and addresses all our needs with one product. UKG offers the Ready solution, which is aimed at smaller organizations. There are several different benefit solutions. Because of the other offerings, UKG products would work well for large, global organizations and smaller businesses that need automation and technology for payroll and timekeeping.
UKG has an amazing support team to reach out to if assistance is needed
All add-ons of UKG Pro integrate seamlessly making it a powerful software program
UKG Pro is very configurable to meet the specific needs of companies
It is easy to use and navigate
The mobile app is loved by all employees and provides on-demand access
The Ultimate Community is amazing!! On-demand information on all products and how they are used. Connect with other companies that use UKG Pro and learn from each other.
The Learning Centre is also amazing!! Learning right at your fingertips anytime, anywhere.
There have been a few instances of users being locked out of Ceridian due to recent upgrades. Not ideal when an employee wants to see their paystub and is suddenly have login issues.
Not the best for when an employee is transferred to another country as their employee number is locked to their SIN or SSN. And, we are required to create a new user record with a new employee number for the new country.
Onboarding and recruiting need an environment that is more stable and dependable.
Core Benefits could be enhanced to allow OE and LE events via the mobile app.
Service and support need to be increased; days and weeks now, when we first went live, it was minutes and hours.
Adapting all version of time management into one or two versions, at no cost to the customer would allow the resources from UTA, UTM and WFM Classic to be directed to future enhancements and would allow support services to be increased for the 2 remaining platforms.
We are highly invested in Ceridian's Dayforce product. It give us the flexibility and scaling that our growing company needs. Its potential reaches beyond the basic HR functions to the decision making that our Management Team needs. Ceridian is always innovating the employee and employee experiences to offer cutting edge options.
We have been a customer since 2015, we have gone to market and find that UKG Pro product is both user friendly for administrators as well as the employee. The qualify of support and service of UKG team is valued and we trust the product.
I think it's very usable for the employee. I don't think it is as easy for the HR/PR admins - especially if there is an issue. There are so many setup screens that need to be looked at to try to figure out why payroll isn't calculating properly, hours aren't feeding over correctly, or benefits are not calculating properly. For the most part, they can't do their own troubleshooting. The same is true for the managers. Our managers find it cumbersome to go into make any schedule changes after the schedules have been generated.
Mobile App: Really easy to use and its nice to have an HR software that actually has an mobile application to be able to enter time and to take care of everything with. Web App: The system is relatively easy to use with maybe a little training at the beginning if you have used another system. But the site is really easy to use and a lot better having everything under one roof
Dayforce's high availability ensures that our HR processes are supported around the clock, which is critical for a global organization like ours. The platform is cloud-based, offering reliable access from any location at any time, allowing our employees, managers, and HR teams to stay connected regardless of time zones or geographic locations. This level of availability ensures that payroll processing, employee self-service, and real-time data access continue uninterrupted, even during peak periods or unforeseen disruptions. The system’s robust infrastructure minimizes downtime, which is vital for operations that span multiple regions. Additionally, having a centralized platform that’s always available helps keep our teams aligned, ensures compliance, and facilitates timely decision-making across all our locations.
For the most part UltiPro has been reliable, but it could definitely be better. There have been several notable server issues where we were unable to access the product or unable to utilize some of the features. Customer support is usually quick to respond to questions about these issues, but they do not proactively reach out to customers whose environments have been effected by outages
We haven't noticed any slow-down due to the integration of Dayforce WFM with our Ceridian HPL products (HRIS and Payroll). The new HTML view of the timesheets don't load as quickly as the old Silverlight view - however, we have gotten used to the change.
Normally UKG Pro loads quickly. We had been having major issues with reports running in a timely manner but recently they broke out our virtual server to another instance where is wasn't sharing resources and that seems to have helped reporting run more efficiently.
Most of the time the support is great; it's not always super efficient but I always get the help I need. Occasionally it takes a lot longer than we had hoped or get conflicting responses. We had one ticket recently where we were told we would have to pay the service team to support us on the project and then another person called the next day with the solution to our query and was able to find a solution easily. Generally, though, the response is great and they either walk me though how to do something via a Zoom Meeting or they email step-by-step instructions on how to do it and say if I have questions we can set up a meeting to discuss further.
The quality of UKG Support is related directly to the UKG rep. who handles the issue. In some cases you get someone who really is good at supporting the product and others may not have as much experience and it shows
I've been to a few in-person (hands on) training sessions and it is very similar to the online classes. You have the same reference material to look back on after the training. So regardless of in person training or online you really get the same thing.
The courses are very interactive and informative. There are classes for every topic, which allows you to make the most of the system. There are also some "go at your own pace" course which is a great option for a busy schedule.
Most of the online training was very generic (to be expected) but we had specific requirements for configuration that could have been better addressed with more individual sessions earlier on from our project team. However, we did finally begin booking training sessions with our implementation team which were recorded, and so provided additional information for how to correctly configure and test the system.
Have a strong internal team. Communicate with your implementation team - they are there to make it work for you. Take the time to really think about how you want the system to work for you - in some cases, you may need to rethink your own business practices to see if you are working harder when the system could do it for you
Make sure you have all of your tax account information with all the states you are registered in available and that you are knowledgeable about the filing status, frequency, etc. We had some unique challenges with our state unemployment tax set up that I was not aware of and needed to be addressed prior to going live. Working with the state unemployment office can be a challenge.
I can't speak much to how it would be if we had all of these features separately since I started with Dayforce all being integrated and have no other experience, but having it all in one place has made the completion of all of these HR tasks seamless. We can direct all of our energies into the same system, and it makes it easier to field employee inquiries and to troubleshoot when we need to
We used ADP WFN prior to switching to UKG. We interviewed three different payroll companies to see what our options were. UKG stood out and aligned with our company values. The sales team was very helpful and asked questions about what we were currently doing and how they could assist with simplifying things. I personally had a side meeting with them to see if there were options for a process that we manually process and if UKG could actually eliminate the process. We came to the conclusion that we weren't able to get it 100%, but we could pull 80% of what we needed from UKG, and then we would only need to manipulate 20% of the information. It was also determined from that meeting that we wouldn't need to pay extra to have a special report built. The customer service is what we were sold on. The other companies that we looked at didn't give us the confidence that their customer service would be any better than what we previously had.
Overall, we are extremely happy with the Dayforce WFM module. Our biggest pain point is concerning the twice annual software upgrades - which is the only reason I haven't rated them as a '10'. Because every customer is configured differently, the upgrades can sometimes have adverse effects on our current configured policies/rules. And although they roll-out the upgraded version in a test environment several weeks before go-live, not all testing is accurate in that environment. Some issues do not present themselves until you are working with live punches.
Performance Reviews/Comp used to be handled via paper and tracking/reporting was a nightmare - having all of that in the system is so much more efficient and provides huge ROI
Our organization used to have big problems with hiring managers going rogue and hiring positions that aren't approved by Finance - we built an approval workflow in the system that triggers before any req is approved which has completely solved this problem
Dayforce Wallet has been a huge perk for our employees - it's heavily used and our crew love it
Personally as a veteran user of UKG Pro, in past employers I have seen many amazing increases in employee engagement and ROI.
With QuVa, we are still very new to the UKG Pro platform and are just now beginning to get out of the implementation phase where we can start measuring the change. I will be looking for changes in Overtime spending to reduce as a result of more informative and actionable dashboards for managers to monitor overtime and timeclock abuses in real time. I am also expecting employees to engage more with new features being pushed out to the mobile app.
