Best suited: In focused, facilitator driven idea noting or discussion session. Less suited: There is no force factor to get users to come back to the mission or page once the session is over. There is no what happens next driver for Missions.

Jira Work Management suits projects involving multiple teams, such as product development. In our case, the design, development, and QA teams use Jira to track tasks from ideation to deployment. Custom workflows and real-time updates ensure that all teams are on the same page, and the ability to link related tasks helps manage dependencies effectively.

Cons
Ideanote
  • More videos in terms of tutorials and use cases.
  • Success stories of how companies used Ideanote to supercharge their innovation.
  • The new Zapier integration is a good step but I would like to see more native integrations with popular SaaS products.
  • Expensive - if not for finding it in an AppSumo deal it would have been hard to afford.

  • More clarification on where to find useful tools and resources for new users.
  • Breakdown of Projects, Tasks, Sub-tasks, bugs is hard to follow and cannot be changed once created.
  • The ability to customize the dashboard/home page to fit the needs of individuals could use some work.

Now that I've been using Jira Work Management for a few years, it feels intuitive. However, when I first started, there was an employee who was far more familiar with Jira Work Management. They taught me the ropes so that I could learn the basics. Eventually we experimented with the tool and learned some new tricks, but it's best to learn from someone who already knows how to use it.

Alternatives Considered
Ideanote
None. This is the only idea and innovation management software I use for our internal processes and we soon plan to use this for our future lined-up services. We have tried GERU in the past but that is a visual mapping software and does not really help in managing proper communication between guests and internal team members.

The evolution of Jira Service Desk to Jira work management is accompanied by lot of new features like the List View which allows inline editing, easy column management, the Calendar View bases on extensible modal and state categories, the Timeline View supports tasks and subtasks, the Boards which allow the categorization of status and allow the visibility of subtasks on the cards, Forms can be created very easily, Project templates can be used based on the business area.
