Pexip vs. Zimbra Email & Collaboration

This video meeting software is good for all those who want to collaborate with their teams on some serious business discussions and it provides the best quality of video without any interruption. Its features work perfectly well from recording to scheduling. But it is not favorable when someone is facing a weak internet connection.

Zimbra is great for an email system for a medium or large organization with appropriate IT staffing. The system is easy to use for end-users, and has a fantastic web interface. Unfortunately, it is overly complex, when considering staffing requirements and price, when compared with Office 365 or Google Apps for smaller organizations. For other education customers, it is hard to compete with Microsoft and Google providing their services for "Free" now though

• Ease of use - The product is extremely user-friendly
• Being able to use many video conference devices with minimal hassle is a nice bonus.
• The sound and video quality are some of the best I've experienced

• It has a friendly and modern graphic interface.
• It is compatible with all operating systems.

• It's hard to find anY cons. But perhaps, the "getting started" manual which is available, and they do send it when you first start, which is needless and far too big whould be replaced by a 15 minute videocall. That's so much better a way to go as no one has time to read so much anymore.

• The password change is not activated when you access by IMAP, Pop3 or Exchange sync. You have to know that the password change is required and you must go to the website to do so.
• The management of mail rules should have more checking options.
• There should be more applications compatible with Zimbra, the ones that appear in the Zimlets.

Pexip Infinity's customer support function deserves a full score for their work. The ironic thing is, I have never had to deal with them at all, which means that their entire development team is actually a support team because they have crafted a product that the client never has to talk to them about; it is just that good and works seamlessly. There are very few products out there that works as easily as Pexip Infinity.

Overall, we were satisfied with the implementation. We perhaps should have spent more time consulting with Zimbra or others regarding best practices but as we got to know the system better we were able to make changes relatively easily after the fact.

Gotomeeting and WebEx are overpriced and quite old technologies in a market ripe for real change.

We selected Zimbra because it has a lower cost in the market, offers more development features for its open source, has a very easy to use interface and adjusts to the needs of the company.

• There is better collaboration in our team.
• We don’t need to be present in the office to discuss something important as we can collaborate from almost anywhere.
• We cannot add a large number of participants as it gets disturbed and the system gets clunky.

• Since all of our ROI studies and strategies are performed at the corporate level, I'm really not sure what positive or negative impacts Zimbra has had on our overall business objectives. I can say that at least one positive impact it has on my business objectives, in the medical record department, is the ability to be as paperless as possible.
