It is better than using Zendesk or trying to custom build a system. Zendesk and so many other tools are so focused on the sales aspect of things and don't give you enough back end options like job costing, inventory management, etc. It is the best tool I have used for solar …

SAP Field Service Management fits our SAP EAM strategy and natively integrates with our landscape. SAP Field Service Management works well with all of our short cycle work that is primarily executed by our internal work force, but we did not use SAP Field Service Management for our long cycle work. Initially SAP Field Service Management did not fit our needs, but we will look to re-evaluate - since there has been substantial improvements with Crowd Service.

Simpro is well suited for job and team management, tracking inventory and the workflow is very logical. The mobile app for our field technicians works very well to clock on and off and then being in a position to report to a customer based on factual information has made invoicing a breeze! Reporting can be a bit frustrating especially on materials used on different cost centre numbers as you can only specify a job number, but not a cost centre number.

Though it is good tool but still having issues with stability and need good amount of technical support to implement. The Industry still do not have good resource available for supporting this product. SAP should provide lighter user manuals/ set up documents. The ones which are already there looks very complex and requires lot of time to go through

Usability
SAP Field Service Management has definitely very nice interface and mobile application. Also thanks to advanced business rules we can automate a lot of processes and many AI functionalities can be used to help dispatchers, technicians and service team in their work. It also has strong integration capabilities (using e.g. SAP CPI or Proaxia Connector).

As mentioned before, materials reporting could use some work as one cannot report by cost centre number, only by job number. It makes it difficult with large jobs with multiple cost centre numbers to easily extract information for reporting. Other than that the system is user friendly and easy to understand.

Support Rating
Support is not very good. Actually one way to support this product is to have flexible and robust support. As it is a relatively new product and continuously evolving so it is better that SAP provide quick support on issues which may feel are trivial.

It is a great option for solar project management. It needs some improvements for real-time one-page reports, inventory management, scheduling and custom views. I believe these will come because they listen to their customers. I would also like to see some better training and not be expected to pay out of pocket for it.

Motorcentral, a software that is part of Trade Me and helps car dealer to manage their stock. Based on my experience, simPRO has way more features and better customer service. Motorcentral doesn't have help to keep most tasks under one system, the only real advantage is that they integrate with the car dealer website so that the stock is always up to date.
