We are a non-profit agency that has many multi-year projects. It has now been a couple of years since we moved to MIP and we are quite happy. Our team adapted to the new system quickly and our implementation was fairly painless. Information that was in multiple programs is now converged in one, saving time and frustration. I believe this goal has been met successfully.

I cannot find a benefit to a program that manages multiple funds from multiple sources but cannot interface with other softwares, provide any kind of standard reporting or books cash disbursements to a general pool regardless of fund. This product sucks. I have never been so disappointed in a product before.

We have multiple funding sources where we track revenues and expenditures separately as well as keep separate balance sheets for each program. We are able to stay in compliance with each grant's requirements because of this ablility.

Not particularly. Income is entered by the client staff on an Excel spreadsheet and then it is rekeyed into MIP so the executive directors can see it in their particular division. MIP should have some sort of data mining and integration with the donors program so that data needs to be just keyed one time for both tracking donors and general ledger reporting.

We have multiple cost centers with different years, MIP allows us to set up different cost code combinations and track each cost center. It's easy to close a cost center or set up dates that the cost center cannot be used past.

We use the allocation module features to automatically allocate the gains and losses of our endowment to over 500 funds. We also maintain six operating funds making intercompany borrowing easy to track, manage and address.

We don’t use MIP’s Fund Accounting to its fullest capabilities, but it has helped us track our various funds in a way that is useful. We have also been able to easily add additional funds as needed. It integrates fairly easily with other software programs as well.

We can track different funds from different sources. We can track expenses very well. The amount of detail by grant, location, department and project is very good. We are able to run reports for all funding requirements. The reports can be saved and be run every month depending on the requirements.

As a nonprofit organization, we do receive funds from multiple sources. The chart of accounts allows us to set up many different codes so we can track funds from various sources. This has been a very helpful tool not only in entering the information but when it comes time for reporting as well.

Most of our funding comes from one source - the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS). We are required to do a detailed annual cost report that displays costs in over 20 cost centers. MIP Fund Accounting streamlines the process of producing the numbers for this cost report. Some of our other funding comes from foundations. Each foundation has a specific financial reporting requirement that entails cost center reporting. In addition, some foundation grants cover a period that is not the same as our fiscal year. The software allows us to capture financial data across fiscal years.

Yes, we have multiple grants that we manage with MIP through a series of grant codes and location codes we use to track payments with. Using these codes we are able to disperse funds with the knowledge that the proper grant will be charged for their percent of the cost of an item or service.

We have benefited by using a lot of the features and be able to gather our information at a moments notice. My supervisor can request certain info and with the ease of the program you can go in and after a few tries get exactly the information you need. The flexibility...wow.

Our company is a nonprofit organization that receives at least 50 grants a year that we need to track each of the budgets. We no longer have to keep Excel spreadsheets on each of these grants to provide project managers the financials for each grant. We are able to print them a report for each client and what funds support each of our clients needs. We can print reports on a specific project, what clients are associated with that project and what grants funded that project. Meanwhile, in our smaller companies, our property management company, and our retail store can still utilize MIP Fund Accounting. We don't have to purchase multiple software.

We have used this functionality and it has been adequate for our reporting. I appreciate that you can easily filter reports based on individual funds which makes reporting easier.
