[Planview Projetplace is used for] different kinds of R&D projects.
Small and big projects that are handled in 3 different countries. Different project leaders and teams. German and English is used. Access to project documentation in different departments can be granted and and all stakeholders are informed live about current project status. Engineering projects have been addressed in the past, but we’re not continued with the system.
  • Task assigning to single persons and self driven feedback about status
  • Document distribution with rights, versions and integration into tasks
  • Classical gang view together with task boards
  • Report about project status
  • Gantt planning needs improvement to assign “pre-activities
  • Clarification on how best combination of boards and activities work together. Boards are linked to activities restrictively, if you don’t know, you have to set up everything new. E.g. making department boards that cannot be linked to general project phases when different departments work on
  • Roadmap planning is confusing and doesn’t being added value. Needs improvement and clear guideline on how to use
  • Project portfolio management is too low level. Should be expanded to handle multiple projects overview
[Planview Projectplace is well suited for] R&D projects and customer applications in mechanics and hardware development[.]

Planview Projectplace is specifically designed for Portfolio and Resource management, as opposed to only manage single projects, so it mostly makes sense if you are a company with enough programs running in parallel. It was used as part of our selection process to update our project methodology and better serve multiple customers. Because multiple offices over the world and various languages are used, as well as significant differences in project sizes, we needed to have a very simple yet effective solution to manage it all.
  • It has every basic feature you'd expect from a portfolio solution
  • Strong document management (tracking, security, collaboration, etc.)
  • Easy drilldown and dependencies analysis across projects
  • Pricing - the PPM market is saturated at a bargain price, and Projectplace does not offer anything unique
  • In the end, it was too simple for us and did not fit with agile frameworks such SAFe
  • Very limited API capabilities makes it difficult to integrate the tool with your technology stack, and even standard 3rd-party solutions such as Zoom took months before getting released
Planview Projectplace definitely makes sense if you've been using their solutions in the past years so that you don't have to spend much on change management and training. Other than that, it does offer all the features you would expect from a PPM tool in a relatively simple way. However, considering the price per user and the number of well-priced competitors on the market (both at Enterprise and SME level), it makes it really difficult to invest in Projectplace as new customer.

Planview Projectplace is a work management software that has been developed to offer project management software with work collaboration solutions. Planview Projectplace features tasks like Kanban boards, Gantt charts, Document Management, To-Do Lists, and much more. This software has made life easier because it thoroughly keeps a check and track on the progress of the work happening within an organization.
  • The first and foremost benefit of Planview Projectplace is that it is a web-based application that is easy to use and has a mobile application that works pretty good too.
  • Planview Projectplace is also used to view our documents in a chronological way.
  • I have been using this software and from my experience, I feel that this software is great for every type of resource and portfolio management.
  • It is also a reasonable platform.
  • While there are many pros of Planview Projectplace, there are certain cons to consider as well. Firstly, updating cards on this particular software takes a lot of time. Also, I personally think that reports and dashboards can be made much better and improvised for the end audience.
  • Moreover, its video conferencing tool is also a bit unstable and poor as compared to other features that are being offered by Planview Projectplace.
  • Additionally, Planview Projectplace has many chances to stimulate their existing tools so that organizations can get help in automating their processes.
In conclusion, I would like to share my verdict. So in my opinion, Planview Projectplace is a great tool for organizations to opt for. It is better and well suited for a large project team and enterprise business in project management. It is great to keep track on your tasks and progress and for that Planview Projectplace is the best option out there.

Regardless of whether groups are based inside or outside the organization, we have had the option to eventually accomplish project objectives by utilizing Plainview Project place. Groups are enabled to make plans and put out objectives and work together utilizing the Kanban sheets. Each individual from the group can assume responsibility for their undertakings and responsibilities utilizing individual to-do lists. My department is having excellent experience in project management with this tool and I am a satisfied user.
  • Planview Projectplace is a dependable task at the board stage that permits associations to follow and deal with their ventures naturally and guarantee their consummation on schedule.
  • We use Planview Project place in our all offices to execute and deal with the entirety of our tasks within the specified time. It gives reliable services.
  • I like that it offers archive the executives and report stockpiling, and so on It simplifies convoluted activities by separating what undertakings need to complete and when.
  • It is an easy to use platform.
  • It's natural and fits entirely in all associations including even the little and fair-sized ones. At times helpless web associations upset the appropriate working of the product looming its usage. The stage is influenced by helpless web associations deferring the entrance of different undertaking points of interest and tasks. I was exceptionally amazed when I was first acquainted with Project place that there is no monetary following segment in the application. On the off chance that somebody is dealing with an undertaking, they need an approach to deal with the spending plan.
Great arrangement of onboarding recordings, yet they didn't appear to dive down into highlights. We were essentially looking around in the product on occasion attempting to sort out certain highlights. They do have online classes you can join and a beautiful powerful help segment on their website, yet I would say be ready to do some exploration to sort out the ideal design.

We use this software as an online collaborative platform to manage our projects that need to be completed. We use the Kanban boards and Gantt charts to display this information in a way that makes it easy for our team to interact with.
  • This tool has helped us keep track of milestones in an organized way.
  • Creates and keeps track of budgeting, etc.
  • Interface is extremely easy to use.
  • My only complaint about it is that it is higher in terms of cost than other platforms that are out there.
  • The integrations are not as various as other platforms out there that do similar things.
I would recommend this tool but depending on what other systems you use there may be software that integrates directly with what you use and may make things simpler and easier.

We use this tool to be able to keep track of all the different projects that need to be completed for our team. It helps us to stay organized and realize everything we need to do.
  • It is easy to use and supports different types of formats such as kanban, etc.
  • Customer support is very helpful and can assist with any issues or problems.
  • Software is very intuitive compared to other platforms.
  • There could be more functionality in terms of project management like budgeting and time charts, etc.
If you have a remote team or people or you want to collaborate and stay connected [with], this is a great option.

Collaboration on the Kanban boards for optimal team productivity. Streamlining interaction between activities within and outside the organization. Reporting of the project's true progress as team members complete their work.
  • Sharing and organizing content from multiple devices
  • Gathering feedback from team members using the conversation tools
  • Remote collaboration on projects
  • Sharing documents with external project partners
  • I have no dislike for this online PM software. It is the leading in the category of project management

We originally just tried out this software to see what it was like, but then we ended up using it because it was pretty easy to onboard our team for. One of the big things that we always focus on is customer support and they have great customer support to be able to assist should we have any issues. We are all remote but mostly across the US. Everyone works in English.
  • Great for time tracking projects to see how long each part of the process works.
  • Great for managing budgets, etc. for different projects.
  • Price is decent.
  • There is not a lot of training material out there, it really takes getting into the software and learning.
  • Best for team use and not necessarily for project management as much.
This is overall a great tool for everyone on the team to use in order to keep track of tools and make sure everything runs smoothly for our entire team.

We have used this tool to stay on top of the different projects that need to get done and what we need to do as tasks in order to complete it. It has helped us to stay organized and know what needs to get done and by who. We operate out of the US though our team is all over. Everyone uses English.
  • The interface is super easy to use and does not take a whole lot of training on our end to make sure everyone understands it.
  • It is easy to stay organized.
  • Editing information is a breeze and changes are tracked.
  • Being able to show levels of complexity within projects.
  • Project timelines and budgeting functions could be way better.
I would definitely recommend this tool unless you are looking for something that has in-depth functionality for complex projects that may require budgeting and time-lining, etc.

The project/ work management tool has recently been used in my current project and I think that it has the potential to replace many other project management tools on the market.
Planview Projectplace tool helps us/our teams stay on top of project progress and organize things before they happen. Additionally, it is convenient to place and track everything at a single place instead of doing so in email threads.
  • A simple way to manage tasks and documents
  • Proper planning
  • Gantt Charts - to show progress effectively
  • There is not enough flexibility in the reporting system that meets project needs
  • Having a good understanding of technology is essential for any customization
Definitely find the Planview projectplace to be one of the most significant alternatives to the other available project management tools. With its Gantt chart functionality, you can present management information on project status accurately and efficiently.

Managing and tracking work in this way is a must for any team in an Agile environment. As well as time management, it serves as a strong tool for teams

The Marketing team used Planview Projectplace to plan and manage integrated marketing programs. It allows us to collaborate in one, shared place, with teams around the company including sales, demand generation and customer success. With Planview Projectplace it is possible to see the status of all the activities and projects at any time. The tool enables real-time collaboration with material sharing, comments, mentions and updates.
  • Project Management
  • Team collaboration enablement
  • Material sharing
  • Dashboard customization
  • User permissions
  • Document versions tracking
The tool is well suited for fast activities tracking, allowing the company to save time for project management and related deliverables. Planview Projectplace [enables a] shift from disorganized notes to a centralized platform where it's possible to keep track of global projects and easily and quickly share them with international teams.

It is being used in HR department and we found it a very useful project management tool. In current COVID-19 work from home scenario, this application helped us in collaboration on our routine tasks and documents sharing. We were able to meet our timelines and complete our task with the help of this application. Also it helped our team to get along on multiple projects. We used agile method and Gantt chart is a very good feature found in this application. Previously, we tried Trello but found Planview Projectplace more comprehensive application with respect to project management.
  • Project & Task Management
  • Collaboration
  • Reporting
  • Pricing should be flexible and yearly plan should be introduced
  • Improve on user interface
  • Integration with other similar/usable apps
It can be used whether you are working remotely or in office setup but I think it is best feasible for remote working. Also, It is a comprehensive project management application and works best for collaboration & reporting. They need to add integration functions with other relevant applications. Also, the user interface needs to be improved so that it would be easy to understand for users.

Planview Projectplace is currently being used across the organization to handle every step of resource and portfolio management. The system gives teams the capabilities and tools that are used to address issues and tasks during project planning, execution, and up to delivery. Teams from different locations are brought together to collaborate on projects.
  • Speeds time to market
  • Helps embrace new workflows
  • Helps drive strategy for delivered products and services.
  • Evaluation of team performance
  • Reporting is not robust
  • Nothing much I dislike

We are using Planview Projectplace on a trial basis in our project for project management and mainly for the support services and thus using the Kanban board feature more proactively than any other feature from Planview Projectplace. We are also able to do meeting management, milestone management, archive documents and enable team conversations on specific issues through chat channels. One key part to note is that we started to operate in DACH region and the service's availability in German language is super helpful.
  • ability to archive documents and that too of large sizes
  • ability to setup Kanban board, manage meetings and chat around specific issues and milestones
  • availability in multiple languages
  • release management
  • fully functional tool available for a trial period of 30 days
  • though it focuses mainly on views it has less of dashboards or charts for use thus lacks in pictorial representation of the data
  • some users we have talked to are concerned about pricing so we want to be fully sure before our trial period ends and we start using it
Tasks or goals are easy to breakdown and represent as cards on Kanban boards after which we can track them with individuals for updates and completion which is very good in terms of being on top of the things at any given point of time. This really has increased team efficiency by a small margin in how our team operates and completes their allocated goals. We are also able to view the workload of group of people or individuals and thus get a good overview of the planned work in a particular time frame.

I did freelance work for a company in the entertainment industry that implemented Projectplace Project Management, and all of the employees were onboarded. The most similar product to this I'd used was Slack - Planview Projectplace was like going from Triple A baseball to the major leagues. The ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate users was impressive.
  • Organization of every team member in one place
  • Charts helped me understand what tasks I had to accomplish
  • The software made me feel like everyone was in one big room, working together as a team
  • It would be nice if they had a tier for small businesses (less than 5 employees) - I'd love to implement it as a composer, but it's a bit cost-prohibitive
If you're managing a large project with multiple sub projects and a lot of employees, Planview Projectplace is the perfect place to run it. Being able to see what everyone is working on - and where they are in the process - very quickly is vital to successful project management. This software has every tool you need to succeed.

We use Planview Projectplace to address and track our progress on marketing projects that we have going on. Documents being uploaded to Planview will show in a new to old order, so this ensures that when we're viewing documents, we know we are looking at the latest and greatest. Also, when looking at the progress of our work, we're able to see where we're at in the process.
  • Document storage.
  • Assigning action items.
  • Sharing & collaboration.
  • Reports & dashboards can be better.
  • Updating cards takes time.
  • Exporting features.
Planview Projectplace is better suited for a large project team where there needs to be communication amongst the different personnel in the project team. If multiple documents need to be looked at for approval, this software is suited for that. It is very good to track progress and stay on top of tasks. Sometimes, when forecasting how long certain things take, it can be a little difficult.

Planview Projectplace is being used throughout the organization mainly by project management teams across the development teams. Multiple locations and countries often collaborate together using English as the main language that is used on the software. The business problems addressed are mostly tracking of to-do items related to project management milestones. It has been especially useful in terms of allocating tasks across a board and enabling everyone to edit their tasks so it decreases the amount of time project managers need to spend in order to get updates.
  • Easy to start up and use without much training
  • Kanban board makes task tracking easy
  • Collaboration is easy across team members
  • Integration with Microsoft products
  • Support for agile workstreams
  • Document management
Overall a decent, easy to use software that we've used for project tracking for program managers. The boards are easy to navigate and helpful for teams that are spread across time zones or locations that make real-time updates more difficult. Great for smaller teams that have already aligned on objectives and are now managing implementation, but maybe less great for teams who are in the process of aligning or brainstorming as it's features as less well developed for those types of exercises.

Projectplace is currently being used in our SVS support team. It helps will the rollout of new versions of the SVS application as well as patches and other updates. So far, only one team in our company is utilizing Projectplace that I am aware of but it's likely that it will spill over into other teams in the future. Our team is primarily based in the West Coast United States region and English is the language used.
  • Document collaboration is a key convenience with this software
  • It provides collaborative workstreams so everyone can be on the same page
  • The Gantt charts are particularly useful for version tracking
  • It could incorporate more machine learning tools for optimization
  • It could provide more data visualization tools
  • It could integrate with another commutation platform more effectively
Any development or production team that involves lots of support and development. In our organization we utilize Projectplace to help manage the development of a software application that pulls data from other sources and generates dashboards to display the data for end-users. It would not be as well suited for individual-based projects or short-term projects.

We used Planview Projectplace for a bit of time looking for an alternative to some of the other project management and collaboration tools we used in our current workflow within our various teams. Microsoft Project, Asana, Microsoft Planner, are all comparable software with similar goals. Planview Projectplace is a suite of tools with high flexibility that allows your team to communicate efficiently and get stuff done!
  • Project Management
  • Collaboration
  • Portfolio Management
  • Gantt Charts
  • Better Integration with Microsoft suite of apps and user accounts
  • Custom Cells
  • User Interface
I think for new and mid-size teams, this software is an excellent suite of tools for a project team. Collaboration and data tracking are very excellent. Through its integration with the other software many teams use (Microsoft) leaves some to be desired to the industry standard of Microsoft Project

This is an enterprise-level project management and team management tool for medium to larger organisations. Not for smaller companies. We assessed this for our creative agency earlier this year particularly for the document sharing feature and Gantt charts. Planview Projectplace is really comprehensive and feels like a mixture of QuickBooks Online and an older Microsoft product in the UX/UI department.
  • Planning a project with the Gantt chart - it feels like MS Project
  • Track documents and changes
  • Meeting integration with Zoom
  • More colours for the Gantt chart
  • Stronger colours and more contrast in the UI please
Planview Projectplace is well suited for a medium to larger sized organisation where the team needs to track documents, projects tasks and issues in one place. As a smaller company it felt overkill, especially with the softer colour scheme. They would benefit from a more modern design or better choice of colours.

  • It is a great strength that the software is collaborative and the users can make edits and it will update on the other end.
  • Content management feature is awesome.
  • My only complaint about this software is that the support team could be better and more responsive. They take quite a bit of time to answer requests.

We use this on our team and we are part of a pilot program. The enterprise is evaluating several tools and our team was lucky enough to use this. This tool replaces a bunch of separate tools that were being used like MS-Project, Excel, Kanban boards and our ticketing system. The entire team had difficulty sharing information in the past but this tool makes it efficient and effortless. We have a distributed team spread across multiple physical locations in the U.S. and abroad. We currently have most teams working virtual so the physical Kanban board isn't practical. This tool eliminates [our] need for physical boards.
  • Collaboration
  • Issue Management
  • Project Tracking
  • Meeting Management
  • Learning Curve (not necessarily the tool, but the Agile processes)
Great for Agile teams. One thing you have to realize is you are not just implementing a tool, but a new process. You can't expect to get there overnight. I recommend that bringing in an expert to help deploy the tool and make the tool part of everyday life and process. The tool needs to be integrated and become how you do things versus something extra you have to do. Once you get the team using the tool as the "how you do things", team morale greatly improves and adoption increases as well as productivity and a number of KPIs / metrics.
