Zuora has been useful in locking certain price points for different customers. However, when an account has more than one type of product, this does not translate well over to Zuora. The users get charged for a certain amount and it may not be the type of license they wanted. Then we as the Sales team have to get involved to either refund or explain the situation to them.

Compared to the billing system that we were using previously, Zuora has helped solved our Accounts Receivable problem where credit cards that we had on file would hard decline and we had no good way to update client information or send client communication to update their information. Our write off to collections has decreased significantly.

Yes, we previously had our billing plans and pricing baked into our software's backend which made it challenging to change pricing or give discounts on the fly. With Zuora, those product plans are now managed within Zuora so we can change pricing and packaging without a lift from engineering, saving lots of hours and frustration.

As a SaaS company with many different products and SKUs, our company has successfully used Zuora to design and implement our pricing and product catalog. Since we have also integrated Zuora with Salesforce, it has allowed for even more functionality and flexible when creating quotes, invoices, renewals and amendments back and forth.

Zuora has a large amount of flexibility and customization, we did not see this at first however as time has gone on we have discovered an endless way to solve our problems. We have both simplified our product catalog to solve complex problems and at the same time leveraged Zuora's flexible charge options to solve other problems. The ability to do both is open to your creativity and the team will be able to guide you on the different ways to use Zuora.

The packaging functionality in Zuora works well in that it's easy to identify a set of products for a given customer and have them roll up into a custom package on the invoice. The pricing feature is suitable for us, as well, but, for us, requires a lot of touching; hard to blame Zuora for that since our world is simply more complicated.

We have transitioned our pricing model a number of times over the years and aim to get to a full utility-based pricing system soon. Zuora has been able to handle our requirements all the way and we know already it can more than handle the utility-based pricing so we are future proofed in this domain.

Yes, we have absolutely achieved the benefit of being able to design pricing and packaging suited to our business. We have it set up so we only have one product, with several rate plans, with several charges built into those rate plans. This simplifies the entire billing process from sales to the collection of the payment.

  • Very good - Products are easily set up and you can charge and set up however you want.
  • Amendments are easily done mid-contract.
  • Just wish you could send more than 10 amendments from Salesforce to Zuora at a time! Not all companies have limited products. This is especially true at renewal and if you've changed up your products.

We haven't achieved a good pricing catalog and model but I believe this is in great part due to sales and their inability to define their needs more clearly - however better understanding of tiered pricing models would be helpful to us so we could communicate this internally and improve for surge customer accounts.

Surf Air has been able to manage the majority of its subscriptions and their terms through the Zuora product catalog and management functionality. There are various times when workarounds must be created but that is occasionally due to Surf Air's lack of mastery of Zuora capabilities. Surf Air has found it necessary to invest in teammates who understand the Zuora system to best leverage its capabilities.

Zuora is incredibly flexible. This is good and bad. It's great because Zuora will keep up with a fast growing and ever-changing business. However, Zuora's flexibility comes at the cost of complexity. From a development perspective, a lot of effort is needed to get Zuora working under complicated situations. Zuora knocks it out of the park when it comes to basic Saas pricing models. If you want to push the limits, you're going to have to put the work in.

Product catalog design was a letdown for us due to the earlier engagement of a third party consultant who is a bit more on the technical side instead of business focus to help with the design.
There are a lot of customisations involved in the end to achieve the result, but with compromise. For example, usage billing is not just loading the usage, but also involves calculation on the loading sheet, to add exchange rate conversation, max and min charge etc.

We have definitely used several of the pricing models in Zuora such as tiered, volume and usage based billing. These options have provided the product and executive team with new options and a fairly straight forward way to model and implement them. This power has enabled the business to bring products to market faster.

With Zuora we were able to easily design different plans (subscriptions) based on our needs and integrate this with our tool. Nowadays we are managing basic account information that is tied to a credit card and generate client's subscriptions. All the payments are automatically generated based on our Bill Run process and if we need to refund or cancel their subscription we can do this without any additional effort.

We have a large product catalog, rate plans, rate plan charges, for all seven currencies that we sell in along with distributors that have their own pricing etc. The product catalog is very easy to use and works well with a little fine tuning at implementation. It fits our organization and structure we sell in etc.
